Brown Sugar Apple & Fig Crisp

Ingredients

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 4 large Fuji or Honey Crisp apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 15 dried Mission figs, stem trimmed and cut into quarters
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Topping

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F

  2. Toss everything but the topping together and pour into a 9 X 13 inch baking dish

  3. For the topping, combine all the topping ingredients in a large bowl and with a hand mixer blend until you have a pea sized mixture or do the same in a food processor and pulse several times until you achieve the same texture, spread over the apple and fig mixture to the sides of the dish and pat gently until even

  4. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown and bubbling, about an hour
